Growth: CNC24 quadruples quality assurance capacities with new measuring center

While growth is stagnating at many other companies in the mechanical engineering sector, CNC24 is continuing to expand and is planning to quadruple its quality assurance capacities by relocating its measuring center to the Alt-Hohenschönhausen industrial estate.

Berlin, 11.03. 2024 – Since last year, the online procurement platform for precision components has been investing heavily in the automation of its platform and in new technologies to make the procurement process even more efficient.

The goal for 2024: to further expand our quality leadership in the market. The move to the Alt-Hohenschönhausen industrial estate goes hand in hand with this goal and the associated growth. The main reason for the new location is the significant expansion of capacities for measuring and storing components and larger premises, which will enable better organization of processes and service for customers.

On a total area of 1,200 square meters, the storage capacity will be increased tenfold, enabling new services such as the on-demand delivery of components. The move will enable CNC24 to cope with the increasing volume of orders. The new location enables a significantly higher throughput speed of goods and increases the possible order capacity many times over.

The move from Berlin-Tempelhof to the “City Dock Gewerbepark Berlin Zentrum” in Alt-Hohenschönhausen will also significantly improve the logistical conditions of the location. In addition to favorable transport connections, large trucks will also be able to make deliveries without any problems.

Quality offensive through larger measuring center

As a company operating in the mechanical engineering sector, CNC24 is very familiar with the requirements of German machine manufacturers, for whom the quality of the components is a top priority. Due to the relocation and the associated larger capacities, the quality of the components is carefully checked before delivery.

“The move is not only the necessary response to our growth, but also an extension of our quality promise. The quality of our components is our top priority. This has enabled us to reduce our complaint rate from 0.17% to less than 0.11%, which is a top value in the industry.

In addition to the expansion of our measuring center and a significant increase in capacity, we are also planning further automation steps and continuous air conditioning of the measuring center in 2024, as well as the establishment of a first test center outside Germany in order to guarantee the quality assurance of the components in the country of origin,” says Willi Ruopp, CEO and co-founder of CNC24.

Despite increased capacity utilization, throughput times remain short thanks to the new measuring center and a significant increase in efficiency can be achieved.

About CNC24:

CNC24, a brand of CNC24 GmbH, is a digital B2B procurement platform through which individual precision components can be sourced transparently and efficiently. Manufacturers from 22 countries produce the mechanical components individually according to customer specifications.

The manufacturing processes offered by the leading online marketplace for mechanical engineering include turning, milling, sheet metal processing and additive manufacturing.

With its innovative platform solution, the technology company creates a transparent process for the procurement of production parts and digitalizes the value chain through to a fully automated procurement process. The company’s successful positioning as a partner for SMEs in terms of digitalization and innovation was confirmed in 2023 when it was awarded the German Excellence Award in the “Digital Startup Champions” category and the “Employer of the Future” seal.

Thanks to its global network of suppliers, the company can guarantee free capacity, high material availability and on-time delivery of components at all times.

For quality control, all parts undergo an additional inspection process in the in-house measuring center before they are delivered. CNC24 was founded in 2019 by co-founders Willi Ruopp and Marlon Gerat. The start-up serves all industrial sectors with a need for production parts – from special machinery and plant engineering to IOT and medical, testing and measurement technology.

Well-known companies such as SIEMENS, DIEHL Group, Qualcomm, KRONES AG, Carl Zeiss, Vishay, BASF, CERN, FANUC, Syntegon, Jonas & Redmann, the Max Planck Institute and Fraunhofer are among its customers.
