On course for growth: start-up CNC24 increases inquiry volume by 138 percent
The smart manufacturer can look back on its third financial year with satisfaction: CNC24 was able to significantly increase the number of inquiries and expand its supplier network and customer portfolio. The company has also recorded strong employee growth. The start-up has also been offering all manufacturing processes since this year and is establishing itself as a one-stop store for the procurement of precision components. Plans for the coming year include the expansion of the in-house measuring center for quality assurance and the development of resilient, global supply chain solutions for customers.
Berlin, December 16, 2022 – The year was dominated by global crises such as supply and material bottlenecks, rising energy costs and inflation. Despite these challenges, the start-up CNC24 recorded growth in several areas of the company: the volume of inquiries rose to around 129 million euros this year, an increase of 138 percent compared to the previous year, and the supplier network doubled to more than 560 manufacturers in 21 countries. By complementing its offering with all common manufacturing processes, CNC24 now supports companies in all stages of production, from prototypes to series production. 1,500 customers from the DACH region now rely on the company’s manufacturing expertise.
Lots of potential for digitization in medium-sized companies
CNC24 focuses on the quality of the components: over the course of the year, components with a total weight of over 1,000 tons were measured and tested for quality in the in-house measuring center. “Our top priority is to meet the needs of our customers and the quality of the components plays an essential role in this. As our recent customer survey underlines, quality is the most important decision factor for them when choosing a supplier,” says Marlon Gerat, Co-Founder and Chief Production Officer of CNC24.
“With a complaint rate of 0.13%, we are already achieving a top value in the industry. In order to maintain our high quality standards, we will be setting up a new state-of-the-art measuring center in the coming months,” Gerat continues.
While many companies are also struggling with a shortage of skilled workers, CNC24 has doubled its workforce from 25 to 50 employees this year. “We want to establish ourselves as the clear number one marketplace for mission-critical component procurement. Good employees are the basis for our future growth, which is why we will continue to strengthen our team in the right places in 2023 for efficient, controlled growth,” says Willi Ruopp, CEO and co-founder, looking to the future.
